THE EDGEWOOD RANCH ENDOWMENT AND EDGEWOOD CHILDREN’S RANCH

The Edgewood Ranch Endowment was organized in the early 1990s for the sole pur-
pose of providing a long-term source of funding for the operations of the Edgewood
Children’s Ranch (the “Ranch”), a not-for-profit that permanently houses, schools,
ministers, and counsels up to 70 boys and girls (ages 6-17) on a full time, year-round,
basis. 100% of the proceeds of this tournament will be devoted exclusively to the
funding of the Ranch.

The Ranch is a non-denominational faith-based organization. Its history in the Cen-
tral Florida Community is rich, dating back to 1966 when Juvenile Court Judge D.
Arthur Yergey saw a need for a residential facility for young boys who exhibited neg-
ative social behavior due to family circumstances. Judge Yergey and John W. “Jack”
Lynd subsequently opened the Edgewood Boys Ranch in Orlando, FL., giving boys
a safe environment in which to change the direction their life was headed. In 1968,
a generous donation of 110 acres was given to be the permanent site for the Ranch.
The Ranch eventually added girls to its program and is now called the Edgewood
Children’s Ranch. The methods and goals of the ranch today are the same as they
were in 1966....love and prayer, bringing about changed hearts and lives.

  • Shamble Format: Each golfer drives off the tee. Thereafter, each golfer
may elect to either (a) play out their own drive fully for the rest of the hole,

own ball fully from there. The two best scores on each hole are used/av-
eraged. Handicaps permitted/factored, but only with a verified GHIN #.
  • Awards/Prizes (closest to pin, longest drive, etc.)
  • Hole-in-one contests, including a BMW Lease Giveaway sponsored by
    Fields BMW
  • Unlimited free drinks and snacks provided on the course during play
  • Breakfast beforehand included for all players
