About Edgewood
The goal of Edgewood Children’s Ranch is to help children struggling with behavior issues created by traumatic experiences in their past find hope and walk in the fullness of the Gospel of Christ. Our residential program provides children in Central Florida with love, structure, behavior training, and a Christian education helping them to live a purposeful and transformed life.
Edgewood Children’s Ranch is a 501(c)(3) organization offering behaviorally challenged children a fresh start through a Christ-centered approach to education, behavioral training, and spiritual development. Children ages 10-17 are invited to be a part of our program regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, or ability to pay. Students live in age and gender-appropriate homes with house parents who offer love, structure, fun, and hope. Our affiliated school features a low student-to-teacher ratio and individualized curriculum giving students an active and accountable role in their own advancement and success.
Are you looking for a teaching position where there is actually time to focus on individual students? Where there is the freedom to meet individual academic goals and to mentor students as they grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually? Edgewood Ranch Academy, a private non-profit residential Christian school, is looking for the right candidates to guide our children as they grow academically. Requirements are a college degree (It does not have to be a teaching degree) and a willingness to work with struggling students.

Who Makes A Good Teacher?
Teaching is central to our mission of helping hurting children discover hope and embrace the fullness of the Gospel of Christ. The individual in this role will focus on encouraging and mentoring the spiritual growth of the children entrusted to you. You will foster and sustain a positive classroom atmosphere, ensuring that our children have the best chance for a quality education. Above all, your love and compassion for these children, who need a caring heart the most, is paramount.
Our teachers come from a variety of family backgrounds, ages, skills, and experiences. However, they all share a common mission: to support and improve the lives of children in need.
Job Duties & Schedule
This is a full-time position. Our teachers begin their day at 8:30 a.m. and typically end at 4:30 p.m. Our students do not take homework home, and our teachers do not typically have additional work, such as grading papers or curriculum planning, to do after school is out. Most of the work is done during school hours.
Every teacher guides a classroom of 6 to 8 students. In a co-teaching setting, you will collaborate with another teacher. Additionally, our students benefit from support provided by volunteer tutors. You will engage in one-on-one interactions with students, focusing on setting goals and completing workbooks. Since each student may be at various grade levels across different subjects, we prioritize an individualized educational approach.
Teacher Hours:
