Position Summary
The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of Edgewood Children’s Ranch and is responsible for overall leadership, direction, and management of the organization. This role oversees residential services, family care, private school operations, staff leadership, financial health, compliance, and community relations. The Executive Director ensures that all areas of the organization operate in alignment with the mission of the Ranch, its ministry focus, and adhere to state and accrediting standards, including those set by FACCCA and the Florida Council of Private Schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership that aligns with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals.
- Foster a healthy team culture that values spiritual growth, collaboration, and professional excellence.
- Lead staff and program leadership across all areas of the program with a focus on integrity and impact.
- Oversee the residential and family care programs to ensure compassionate and transformational support for children and families.
- Ensure that all care provided meets applicable state regulations and FACCCA standards for child welfare and residential care.
- Support the administration of Edgewood Ranch Academy, our private Christian school, and ensure educational and spiritual excellence.
- Maintain compliance with the standards of the Florida Council of Private Schools and foster a nurturing and supportive academic environment.
- Develop and execute strategic plans in partnership with the Board of Directors.
- Manage day-to-day operations with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Lead the budgeting process, financial planning, and reporting in collaboration with the Board and finance team.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of resources and maintain financial integrity.
- Lead fundraising and development efforts, including cultivating donor relationships, overseeing grant opportunities, and developing key community partnerships.
- Represent the organization to donors, churches, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Promote the program’s mission through public speaking, events, and media when needed.
- Develop and maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships to further the reach and impact of the ministry.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the Board of Directors.
- Provide regular updates, strategic input, and policy recommendations to the Board.
- Support Board development and engagement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of top management in a non-profit organization..
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required; relevant experience in nonprofit leadership and program management is essential.
- Strong understanding of child welfare, family services, and/or residential care preferred.
- Proven success in staff leadership, operational oversight, and financial management.
- Excellent public speaking, communication, and networking abilities.
- Passion for serving vulnerable children and families in the Central Florida community.
